Faces of Angels

This is a really wonderful project we have started to help prevent and fight against child abuse, a highly successful project that has touched hearts worldwide.

The drawings below are faces of angels taken away from this earth far too soon at the hands of either evil or really sick adults (rarely also disturbed young people). We will not include their stories (which you can find online), as these drawings are supposed to give life back to them rather than outlining the tragic circumstances of their death. Art is life!

If you are interested in their stories and want to show your support, there are some lovely sites, like In Loving Memory of Angels, Angelizdsplace, Abuse Angels, The Memorial Tribute and Tiny Angels. but there are more, and of course you can also google the name of child you are interested in. A good site is also Find a Grave (for everyone). Angelizdplace has sadly become inactive, but luckily the Internet Archive still has it, although the images don't work. The person who used to run that site had mentioned health problems and had been inactive for a long time, so maybe she is not able to run the site any longer.

The children are all under 18, the only exception so far being Dawn DeFeo, who was 18 at the time of her death and whom we have included so that she could be with her siblings.

The drawings have been made based on photos found in articles and news about their death and will be updated on a regular basis. Sadly, there are far too many tragedies in the world to include them all, and sometimes no clear photos are available either to create drawings, so this page and the brochures are just representative. According to a WHO report from 2016, it is estimated that every year there are around 41,000 murdered children worldwide. We really have to fight to change this!

As far as we know, this art project is unique in the world. Thank you, Marie! Art is always useful and definitely helps both the creator and the observer, but this project is truly unique, as it gives life back to these children (art is life), and it is also a great project against child abuse.
