We have also added some drawings Marie had originally discarded (for some unknown reason) to the drawings below because we think they should be shared with the world as they are really great. We don't have the original scans, but only reduced images Marie had sent to Paul a long time ago, but even in small size their beauty is evident.
We have even more drawings, but we have to organize things a bit (find out who the portraits are etc.), so it might take some time before we add more.
We decided to make it more exciting by letting you recognize the great people in Marie's portraits, so we haven't added any names. First we have artists, then cinema (actors etc.), then photos by Lee J., then musicians, philosophers, scientists, writers, and finally some uncategorized images. We hope we didn't make any mistakes, as we are not as smart as our unforgettable Marie.
***Please read the introduction to and reason for Marie's drawings on Jim's website, as they are very important for autism:
On Jim 's site, you can also find credits for the photos that inspired Marie's drawings (when known).
Here is a drawing of Ludwig van Beethoven I would like to single out because of its message.
Marie has always found Beethoven very inspiring because of his genius, determination, and also because when he was alive he was misunderstood and ostracized by many people who expected normality from everyone. But he kept going, he kept loving his passion and didn't care too much about haters. He found inspiration and peace in nature and solitude, not in crowds or seeking approval from people whose approval was not so important anyway.
